Whether you're building your dream home or investing it can be challenging to find a quality product that's within your budget. It can be especially tricky when building away from new estates where land is a standard size and shape. Even if your desired house design is the right size for the block of land you purchased doesn't mean it's always the right fit. Using a builder who can work within the restraints of an existing plot and can tailor your design easily can make a significant impact in the workability and look of your home.

Studio 8 Builders and Designers are well known for quality individually designed homes and units, but did you know their First Rate Homes Range provides affordability without compromising on quality, service or design?

Good design does not have to be compromised just because you're on a tight budget.

With designs starting from $140k, Studio 8 has made it even easier to get into your new home. If space is your issue, there are several designs specifically for 12m lots. There are also designs available for rear access cottage lots as wells as townhouses and units. Alterations can be made to any of these designs, giving you a truly unique home that suits your needs and lifestyle. Quality will never be an issue with the same exceptional tradesmen used with all of their homes and units.

We encourage individual touches made to your home design.

Here are a few things to consider when building an existing block or redevelopment.

Make Sure the Design Suits the Block

With irregular and uniquely shaped blocks, be sure the design suits your site. If your plan needs to be narrowed or altered, it can dramatically affect the end product - not to mention it can significantly increase the build cost. Working with a builder that knows how to find a design that works with the land will ensure your home not only looks great but is also practical.

Check if the Land Requires Extensive Site Works

Typically when building on a new land estate most of the hard work has been done for you and site works will be minimal. However, when building on an existing block in a growing suburb that is rarely the case. Before you get started on your new project make sure you discuss what site works are required with your builder to make sure you are off to a smooth start.

Ensure You Have Received a Quotation

It is vital for you to understand the difference between a quotation and an estimate. An estimate can legally be amended at the contract signing, meaning your build could end up costing you a lot more than you bargained for. A quotation is a fixed price for the period noted on the documentation. Any reputable builder will be able to provide you with a quote upon request, and you should always ensure you've received a quote to save you time and money in the future.
