Cassari Group took out the highest accolade at the 2018 HIA Colorbond Steel Matt Perth Housing Awards for their superb Highgate project. Out of the 74 awards presented, the Subiaco-based builder was awarded Home of the Year, made all the more impressive by the fact this was a renovation project, an unusual accorance for this HIA award category.

The same home also took out the Renovation/Addition Project over $1 million, the Renovation/Addition Project of the Year, the Peter Overman Award for Perth Innovation in Housing Project of the Year, and Liveable Home of the Year.

From the front, the Highgate property presents as a perfectly groomed, picturesque character home. Inside, you are greeted with the charm of a bygone era, quickly followed by all the modern luxuries and state-of-the-art finishes you could dream of.

The quality of workmanship demonstrated by the builder was exceptional, and the attention to detail shown, particularly in the older areas of the home is to be commended.

- HIA WA Chief Judge, Max Pirone.

The project is a magnificent blend of old and new, preserving the beauty of the original historically listed home, with a seamless and highly innovative multi-level extension.

Full works by Cassari Group involved a complete front restoration and a modern 3 storey extension to the rear of the property. The extension featured an integration of different materials, including copper roofing and wall cladding, granite flooring, a custom poured concrete island bench, timber veneer cabinets, stone tops throughout, feature lighting and internal/external tuckpointing to the original home.

Impressively, the home is also fully automated and can be run from a tablet or mobile phone which controls the lights, pool, security and sound system.

Other outstanding additions include a lift to all levels of the home, a wine cellar, extra room for a future carer, a pool and multi-level outdoor entertaining area.

We chatted to Director Lorenzo Cassiani about being recognised so strongly at the HIA awards this year, and he said above all Cassari Group pride themselves on being a family-run, approachable company with a commitment to quality, integrity and customer satisfaction.

For every one of the projects we undertake, at least one of the managing directors are intimately involved from start to handover. Our clients can be assured that they have the full attention of the managing directors looking after their home. This is a huge point of difference for our clients.

- Lorenzo Cassiani.

Cassari Group also took out the 2018 HIA Perth Award for Best Renovation / Addition Project ($650,001 – $1,000,000) for their exquisite Mosman Park project. The home featured a full renovation including a new bathroom, lounge and second office, plus a two storey extension complete with a masterbed, office and ensuite on the upper floor, and an an open plan kitchen, dining and living area on the lower extension.

Congratulations to Cassari Group on their long list of awards at the HIA Colorbond Steel Matt Perth Housing Awards this year.
