We had the pleasure of attending the VIP launch of the very first display home by Inspired Homes this month, and we were blown away by the stylish project.

The Casablanca at Piara Waters is all class.

No expense was spared in this sleek Moroccan-inspired design, from the luxe timber flooring (even extending into the shower!), to the plush walk-in robes and resort-style day bed outside.

The home is full of surprises and luxuriously thoughtful finishes. Our favourite elements had to be the master ensuite with the stunning stand-alone bath and luxe timber tiles (that extend into the shower), as well as the hidden kitchen scullery which allows for messy prep work to be done out of sight, while the ultra-modern feature kitchen soaks up all the glory.

Overall, we were so impressed by this Inspired Homes design and their first foray into the display home world. If you're in the market to build a new home, or simply want some refreshing inspiration, make the time to head to Piara Waters to see The Casablanca in person.

This is the first of 4 display homes being opened by Inspired Homes over the next 6 months, and we're excited for their next projects to be unveiled.

To help celebrate the launch of this fantastic project, Inspired Homes gave us some insight into the the style inspiration that gives this property such an elegantly mysterious appeal.

A Guide to Moroccan Themed Interior Design

The Moroccan style is all about combining vibrant colours, lush textures, elegant accessories and gentle lighting to achieve a perfect indoor oasis.

Moroccan Style Furniture

Moroccan style furniture is a relatively simple but highly detailed affair. Look for low set tables and sofas that incorporate mother of pearl inlay, wrought iron scrollwork, ornately carved wood and richly hued upholstery.

Strong Colours

Colour and vibrancy are the focal point for Moroccan interior design, with inspirations taken from the North African landscape. Shades of blue and green invoke the Mediterranean and Atlantic, shimmering silver and gold reflect the searing sands of the Sahara, while rich oranges and reds conjure up a vibrant desert sunset.

Lush Fabrics

In keeping with the elaborate tents of desert nomads, fabrics with rich colours and intricate textures are an essential element of Moroccan style interior design. Think luxurious throw pillows and rich fabrics draped over furniture.

Get Reflective

Strategically placed mirrors help to enhance a Moroccan feel by subtly reflecting light and adding an extra layer of ornate decoration. Look for examples that have decorative wrought ironwork, carved wood and metal or jewel embellishments on their frames for a really authentic feel.

Moroccan Flooring

Go for a combination of dark hardwood flooring, plush rugs, stacked floor cushions and earthy ceramic tiles.

Bring The Oasis Inside

Large, colourful pots or hanging baskets full of exotic green plants will add to that oasis-like feel.

Lighting

As with all interior design, lighting is hugely important. Moroccan style interior design tends toward the dim effect created by lamps and pendants made from coloured glass, cut metal and carved wood. Adding candles in traditional lamps can also help to add an element of moving light.
