Rule Brittania

Created by ESP Events, the evening had a British theme defined by legendary rock 'n' roll music from the 60's - think The Roling Stones, The Beatles, The Who et al - union jacks and even an old red phone booth on stage.

Riverview Drinks

From 6:30pm around 700 people from Perth's new homes sector enjoyed pre-dinner drinks overlooking the brand new Elizabeth Quay, the city and the Swan River. In an impressive room with all attention on the stage and wonderful, huge-screen audio visuals, the crowd welcomed back humorous hosts Peter Rowsthorn and Russell Woolf and the pair kicked the evening straight off.

HIA President Dean O'Rourke Acknowledged

This awards was the final one for outgoing HIA President Dean O'Rourke who has served two consecutive terms in what is a demanding position, central to the HIA and the building sector in Western Australia. Dean's committment and dedication to the industry was acknowledged by his peers and colleagues from HIA National President Ross Lang, HIA Regional Executive Director WA John Gelavis and Dale Alcock himself.

Congratulations and thanks go out to Dean and his family from newhomesguide.com.au on a difficult job, exceptionally done, for four years.

Dale Alcock Honoured

Dale Alocock took to the stage to accept the HIA Ron Seares Citation Award. This rare award, last given in 2004, acknowledges outstanding and sustained contributions to furthering the new home and building sector in Australia. No one could debate Dale as the worthiest of winners and the decision produced thunderous applause and cheers from the entire room.

"It was fantastic to see Dale acknowledged with this prestigious award. I felt priveleged to be there on the night, not only to see Dale and hear him speak, but also witness the outpouring of gratitude the industry showed to Dale and Dean O'Rourke. Both exceptional stories in their own right."

- Troy McGuinness, Director, newhomesguide.com.au

The presentation was acoompanied by a poignant and humorous visual presentation that was a great reminder of Dale's amazing start at such a young age (hello mullets!), incredible achievements early on, and the longevity of his career and achievements.
