Imagine waking up to a rainforest scene, taking a shower gazing down Venice’s Grand Canal, or cooking dinner overlooking the New York skyline, all without leaving your house.
These are just a few of the possibilities available with Pickawall, a new product which allows you to turn the walls of your home into a blank canvas.
An Australian company which was founded this year, Pickawall transforms images into a self-adhesive, heavyweight wallpaper suitable for use throughout the home.
The wallpaper is manufactured exclusively for the company and has a canvas-like texture. It is durable, easy to clean and UV stable.
Most importantly — and unlike traditional wallpaper — Pickawall’s wallpaper is easy to apply, reposition and remove. It sticks to most wall surfaces and will not crease or bubble.
The company likens it to a giant, removable sticker and promises it can be installed by even the least handy person, although an installation service is also available.
Pickawall customers can choose from millions of images through its partnerships with photo libraries including Getty Images and Alamy, with choices ranging from landscapes and scenes from cities around the world to artistic abstract images, street art and famous sportspeople and musicians.
Customers can also upload their own high-resolution photos and the Pickawall website allows them to customise the design of their image or convert it to black and white or sepia.
The image is then printed on the wallpaper using a child-friendly, odourless, non-carcinogenic water-based ink and dispatched within three days of ordering with a step-by-step instruction sheet.
Pickawall is available in a minimum size of 118.9cm x 84.1cm up to any large sized wall. Prices start at $59 per sqm plus postage.
The product is available exclusively from the Pickawall website.
